The purpose of the installation (“Evoking Childhood”) is to make people reflect on their collective memories around the area. The installation was built on the old playground to emphasise the past in adjacent to the present.
 

Visitors are invited to touch, feel and experience the elements around the playground. The different heights and placements of the balloons are defined by the interaction within the space while the reflecting benches are scattered across the perimeter, creating an overall panoramic effect.

Balloons have played an important role in our life, often used in ceremonies and events. But in this installation, it encourages people to look up. Our society has been surrounded by technologies that creates an unintentional action that forces us to look down. These balloons also symbolises thought and imagination that has been living within us stopped by mental locks.

Through a child’s perspective, anything is possible.
