THE CHINESE EMBASSY FOR EUROPE

4thYear // Academic

CJ Lim // Simon Dickens // Jon  Kaminsky

Is China’s ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ a Trojan horse or can its architecture bring hope in humanity, trust and political goodness? The Chinese Embassy for Europe is a humanitarian project that helps China rebrand its international human-rights credibility. By reversing
the narrative of the painting, it is hope, trust and goodness instead of deceit that the architecture cultivates. In this scenario, China has leased 15 islands along the Cyclades region and promise Greece to increase their financial stability. In addition, the embassy shelters refugees from around Europe and holds summer schools relating to nature for urban Chinese students.
